Krabi : Part 2 - Green Papaya Salad, Glutinous Rice Mango, Nutella Pancake

Finally, after the 9.5 hour bus ride from KL Sentral in Malaysia, we have reached Krabi in Thailand. For the first 2 nights, we are staying in Riverside Hotel. As per the name, we are staying close to the river. It is Krabi River. The rooms are nice. There is free wi-fi. Very important. And hot shower! I love hot shower. It is so rare I get to have hot shower. When I do, I can stay inside for a long time.

For dinner, we went to the night market which was about 20 minutes walk from our hotel. Night market in Maharaj Soi 10. It was a small night market, and was almost closing. The night market closes by 9pm. This daily night market is different from the weekend market which is really huge. I bought Green Papaya Salad, Glutinous Rice with Mango and tried some Nutella Pancake.

My Green Papaya Salad or Som Tam for THB40. Mine was a bit spicy because I added 2 green chilli inside. But was not in tears yet.

My roommate and I shared glutinous rice with mango. The coconut milk is tasty and rich. And fattening. That costs THB40.

We brought our dinner to Chao Fa Pier. It was about 10 minutes walk. We sat on the grounds and had our meal. Yummy meal. Street food by the river. Best environment ever.

After dinner, we continued our walk along the river, and found ourselves in another food area. These are just foodstalls which close about 11pm. My friend bought the banana nutella pancake for THB35. To me, it tasted like roti pisang. It was a bit oily to my liking. I could not taste much of the chocolate. I think the oil might have drowned the taste of the chocolate. Apparently, the pancakes of Krabi are a must-try local food.
