The Story
010822 afternoon - After the dip in Isar river, we walked towards town. My friend was keen to see a famous landmark of an attempted murder towards Adolf Hitler. It was difficult to find the place on the floor because there were no signs on any buildings. The place's name is Georg Elser-Gedenktafel. The memorial plate is close by to a trumpet-sort of artwork.

Johann Georg Elser (4 January 1903 – 9 April 1945) was a German worker who planned and carried out an elaborate assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler and other high-ranking Nazi leaders on 8 November 1939 at the Bürgerbräukeller in Munich (known as the Bürgerbräukeller Bombing). Elser constructed and placed a bomb near the platform from which Hitler was to deliver a speech. It did not kill Hitler, who left earlier than expected, but it did kill 8 people and injured 62 others. Elser was held as a prisoner for more than five years until he was executed at the Dachau concentration camp less than a month before the surrender of Nazi Germany. Source from Wikipedia.

We stopped by in the Church of St Peter which was located close to Viktualienmarkt. The church of St. Peter is the oldest parish church in Munich with the oldest bells, and historically the first tower clocks in the city. We did not go up the tower as recommended to see the view of the town. We were not very keen by the idea.

Then, we headed towards Victuals Market (Viktualienmarkt in German). It was a huge crowd under the chestnut trees that we were lucky to find a place.

The Viktualienmarkt is a daily food market and a square in the center of Munich, Germany. It has been held daily since 1807, except on Sundays and public holidays. The Viktualienmarkt developed from an original farmers' market to a popular market for gourmets. In an area covering 140 stalls and shops offer flowers, exotic fruit, game, poultry, spices, cheese, fish, juices and so on. Source from Wikipedia.

Yummy sausages with my radler.

Blackberries (brombeeren) - 250g for EUR5.95. So 1kg is EUR23.80 = SEK260 today. Quick check in the local supermarket's website (ICA) and they sell 1kg of fresh blackberries for SEK319 and they are from the Netherlands. Frozen blackberries cost way cheaper at SEK82 per kg.

Heidelbeer körbcher = blueberries in basket. 1kg for EUR14 which is about SEK150 today. I did a quick check and ICA (local supermarket) sells its own brand of frozen Swedish blueberries for SEK82.90 per kg and fresh blueberries from Peru for SEK159.80 per kg. Why is there even blueberries from Peru being sold in Sweden? I am confused. Well, my Swedish blueberries are free because I plucked them from the forest. This year, we have 7kg of blueberries in the freezer.

There is also a spring water in the market where one can drink water from. Very convenient for me to fill my water bottle. The water is really cold!

Saw a cycle where 7 people can pedal it.

Evening - For dinner, we headed to Steinheil which got very good ratings and we started a queue for the restaurant. Gradually, there was a line of about 10 customers behind us. One can book but we did not know that. It did not take too long for us to get a table. Probably an hour. It was 830pm when we got our food! The food portion was so huge that it took me a very long time to chew and swallow. The meat got dry after a while. It would have been better if we shared a plate. Trust me, it was too much for an adult.
