The Story
21072022 - Today's breakfast is cheaper than the breakfast set in Mora. This is SEK79. Maybe it is cheaper when one goes further north. I hope so.

Today's activity was to hike up to the highest spot in Östersund. On top of the highest spot is Frösötornet (the Frösö tower) which is 468m above sea level.

At the top, we rewarded ourselves with coffee. It took us about 25 minutes to hike up the slope. There are ski lifts which are used during winter. During the summer, one can see bikers going downhill and uphill.

For lunch, we went to a restaurnant that had good ratings on Google. It took us about 30 minutes to get there from the peak of the hill. We had lunch of the day for SEK110. We had greek minced meat. We were so hungry and the portion was big! I thought the food was good. We sat under the shade for some time enjoying the breeze.

In Östersund, it is famous for the Swedish version of the Lochness monster. It is called Storsjöodjuret ("The Great-Lake Monster") that is said to live in the 90-metre-deep lake Storsjön. There were lots of these statues in the town so I had to take a tourist photo with it.

For dinner, we reserved a table at Republiken. Someone mentioned that it was a good restaurant to try. So, we tried a fancy restaurant. I prefer the greek minced meat. Haha!
