On the 2nd day being in Taman Negara, we had walked to Abai Waterfalls in the morning, and now, in the afternoon, we are going for a boat cruise and rapid ride along Sungai Tembeling. It was a very hot day. You can use the term 'scorching heat'. There was a visit to the Orang Asli (aborigines) settlement in the package, but we did not want that. We tweaked the itinerary and combined the boat and rapid ride and then did some birdwatch. The rapid ride was a short one and not dangerous. The guide sat in the front and maneuver the boat to the left and right and we got splashed with some water.
This is the Orang Asli settlement and there were so many boats. It was definitely a tourist attraction. Good thing we omitted that from our itinerary. I did not want to be in such a crowded area.
We stopped at one of the banks of Taman Negara side of the river and walked a bit to look for birds. I could not see any, as usual.
Yes, this is a HDR-mode photo. But they were definitely grey clouds. Remember we had scorching heat when we started our boat ride. And now, we have pricking cold rain. We were caught in the rain, and since we were on a motorboat, the combination of the wind and the rain made the 15 minute ride the longest I have ever felt!
Most welcoming meal after being drenched in the rain.
And this is how our room looks like every day. My sister brought the clothesline and so we could hang our clothes.
