Hanoi : Part 3 - Cloth Market, Sinh Travel Cafe and Old Quarters

Being in Hanoi for 7 days, and 5 days being weekdays where I have to work (I am in Hanoi for work), I can only spare to explore Hanoi in the evenings. In my earlier post, I wrote about going to Opera House, Silk Village and Lotte Hotel to see the top of Hanoi. This post continues on my exploration on a Friday evening.

We went to Cho Market. This is a local market where cloths are sold. Just cotton cloth and lots of clothes. There are just so many stalls with so many colours! I did not buy anything. So, I sat and enjoyed all the colours. By the way, only the locals know of this place. Anyway, I inserted the photo of where this market is located - next to Vietin Bank. I realised that is not a very smart statement because there are many branches of Vietin Bank. Haha!

Still on a Friday evening, we continued to Sinh Travel Cafe to buy our tickets to go on Halong Bay on Saturday. Yay! Our counterpart tells us that Sinh Travel Cafe is the most famous and reliable in Hanoi. I suppose that comes with a slightly pricier ticket. It costs USD28 whereas I have seen other travel agents selling for USD20 or USD23 for a day trip. Anyway, being reliable is important. Plus, I do want to enjoy the place which I am probably not stepping onto again. For the one-day trip in Halong Bay, we paid extra USD5 for the kayaking activity. Altogether USD33. Not cheap when I convert to RM.

After getting my tickets, we walked on to Old Quarters till it was night. This is the old street of Hanoi. I enjoyed the walk and the bustle of motorcycles zooming past me.
