Hanoi : Part 2 - Opera House, Silk Village and Top of Hanoi

While I was in Hanoi for work, we had the evenings to ourselves and decided to explore more of Hanoi.

Monday Evening

On the Monday evening, we went to see the Opera House. The architecture is beautiful. Unfortunately, there were no events going on. So, we did not get to see what was inside. There is a cafe next to the Opera House. Also Hilton Hotel is next to Opera House. You can imagine how expensive the food is if there is a Hilton Hotel.

Wednesday afternoon

We visited the Silk Village which is about a 30 minute drive from Hanoi Town. You can even see the cloth being produced. My friends went to buy silk cloth while I went to see silk factory. If my memory does not fail me, 1 metre of cloth was sold for RM20. They tell me it is cheap.

Wednesday Evening

We went to see the top of Hanoi! This is the tallest hotel in town - Lotte Hotel. I think it is a 5-star hotel. There was a person to open the door and to press the buttons on the lift. Obviously, I was amazed because I have not experienced the service of someone pressing the lift button for me. The highest floor is the 65th floor and it is cold. There is an open bar and a band was singing. The live band was very loud and we cannot talk much. The view of Hanoi was lovely. There were not many lights on the streets and it is dark in some areas. We were here for 30 minutes only before it started to drizzle.
