Krabi : Part 7 - Emerald and Blue Pool

Today's itinerary is to go to Emerald Pool. A majority of us wanted to go there. Hence, we are here at 11.40am. It was about an hour drive. There is a huge parking lot and no worries about whoever is driving. It was pretty hot and I missed my hat. There is a toilet when we walked in, and for THB5 which is a standard fee. Best to empty your bladder while you still can.

 We walked in and on both sides of the path were stalls. For the first time, I saw barbequed eggs. I googled and found out that this is a common street food in Thailand. I did not try it. I think it is easy to cook, though because I googled that too. Haha!

The ticket to enter inside Emerald Pool is THB200 for foreigners, which is 10 times more than a local. There were 2 routes to walk. We chose to walk on the bridge which is about 1km, and to exit via the other route which has an 800 meter distance. Along the bridge, I saw very crystal clear waters. It took me about 30 minutes to reach Emerald Pool which included photo taking sessions.

Ta-da, I present to you Emerald Pool! Full of people soaking themselves. I did not attempt to step inside. My friend told me to venture further up to the Blue Pool.

The way to the Blue Pool. It was just 15 minutes walk on the cemented path. Along the way, I saw Hermit Court. This is a sacred place of worship where it is believed that anyone who makes their wishes here come true. Well, a majority of the wishes.

I present to you Blue Pool but the signboard states 'Spring Pool'. No confusion needed. This pool is formed from a hot spring which is indigo blue and pops up most of the time. Anyone who claps their hands will see the spring popping up more quickly. I suppose they are referring to the bubbles. Swimming is not allowed because apparently, the water is deep here and there is sinking mud. There were many people who clapped their hands, and I could see maybe some bubbles. You will be surprised that the water is so blue and transparent, that you cannot believe the pool is deep. I have never seen water so blue. Indigo blue is a pretty colour.

Next stop - check in to a new hotel which is closer to the weekend market. I have no idea on the reason behind the change but it was definitely a change for me.

 

The reason I said it was a good change - it was very close to the bus stop that will take me to Tiger Cave Temple! Next post on that!
