Krabi : Part 4 - Island Hopping : Chicken and Poda Island

Our next island is Chicken Island. This is where we do our snorkelling. I am not sure if the island looks like a chicken. The beak is a bit too short and the head is not elongated enough. It was just a 10 minute boat ride from Tup Island to Chicken Island. We spent about an hour in the waters. I saw only one kind of fish. I could not see any corals.

After snorkelling, it is time for lunch at the last island - Poda Island! I was so hungry. We got packed lunch. Rice, chicken and a fried egg, and a bottle of water. I was so in need of water after all its contents were emptied in my dry bag. After lunch, we walked to the end of the route, where there was a cave.

Oh, there are boats selling corns, ice cream and other kinds of food too.

One can rock climb too. We have insufficient time, and hence, we just watched. But even if there is time, I don't think I can rock climb.

At the end of the walk, I was surprised by what I saw. I looked for some narration to explain on the penises erected everywhere. It is believed that the spirit of Phranang (Princess Goddess) live in this cave. Fishermen will pray to Phranang before going out for good luck. When their wishes are fulfilled, offerings are made to her. Common offerings are flowers and incense sticks but usually, the spirits of goddess shall be offered special gifts such as lingam. This was the first time I encountered with the word 'lingam'. The belief of lingam and holy womb (i.e. the cave) shall create fertility and prosperity to mankind and the whole earth.

On the way back to the boat, I climbed on a tree, and have my new Facebook profile photo taken.

We left the island at about 3pm (Malaysia time). Along the ride back, I saw two distinctive differences in the clouds. One side was going to rain and the other was clear. Pretty awesome.

A group photo when we reached the shore. I drew the words - BBM: Krabi By Bus 2014. Now, I was hot, wet, sticky, sunburnt and has the urgent need to pee which I held on for 30 minutes before I found a restroom in Ao Nang. Silly me for not going to the toilet when we arrived because I thought I could hold it. Why am I writing about my need to pee?

In my eyes, it looks more like the Loch Ness sea monster. But I haven't actually seen the monster, so I may be a little bit unfair here...
