05022012 - Today morning, I woke up early at 7am to snap photos of the mangrove place. I walked about to snap the morning sun rising.
When I went back to the house, there were breakfast on the table - nasi lemak (rice cooked in coconut milk that has anchovies, chilli paste and half an egg), yu tiao (fried bread stick - my favourite) and chocolate drink.
Since we had nothing to do this morning, we decided to go to Tanjung Piai, the southernmost tip of Mainland Asia. We left at 8am and reached about 40 minutes later. It was a very easy route. There were signs anywhere. The ticket fee to enter was RM5. Not many people around today. After purchasing the tickets, we walked along the wooden bridge that was 653m in length. Very short bridge.
From afar, we could see the globe. We are almost there. The heat was so strong. At the tip, there were two signboards showing Straits of Malacca and Straits of Johore. It was a very proud feeling inside me to be able to step on this place. I could see Singapore too, and many ships along the straits.
We left the place about 10am. Then, it was back to Kukup where we packed up, had a disappointing lunch (which is part of the package) and to Kuala Lumpur we headed back, but not before we stop at another place - UK Agro Farm!
My opinion of Kukup - overrated. The food is overpriced for small portions. The accommodation is overpriced for limited activities. Nevertheless, it has been a good experience. It is always best to go to a place for yourself to form your own opinion.
