National Science Centre : Part 1 - Back to School

One fine day in November 2011 (wow, sounds way too long ago), I drove to the National Science Centre. I have been eyeing this place for a long time because of its dome. I drove there in the morning, and parked across the road. There was an overhead bridge for me to cross the road. I did not know that one can actually park inside but good thing, I did not. Or I would not have been able to take the photo of the entrance. And walk is a good thing. Although it did rained a bit when I wanted to leave, and I had to wait for the rain to subside before attempting to walk under the drizzle.

At the gate of National Science Centre, they were selling tickets to watch two exhibitions - Age of the Giants (from the prehistoric) and Androids (to the future). I bought both tickets - Age of the Giants for RM8 and Androids for RM6. Of course, both exhibitions' period have ended.

Inside the National Science Centre, I did not expect to see fishes, and aquarium at the walkway. Walking underneath the aquarium, it was quite exciting to see fishes swimming above me, although this is quite common in Aquaria. Aquaria is a large aquarium located next to KL Convention Centre.

Now, this is the science place. The place I am here for. I tried lots of experiment, touched lots of things, and pressed lots of buttons. They are fun. It brought me back memories from school, learning Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Yes, I was a Science student in school.

Showing how tornado happens. Green button to release the air.

Dance around inside to block the lights and get some music.

When I saw this, I was .. Chemistry.. 16 years old. Agony on understanding chemistry. And I remembered my partner in class who patiently explains to me, and probably sometimes utter my name too many times in the midst of explaining out of 'geram'-ness (frustration). Haha!

And then I entered into a 3-D theatre where we pretend to be in a submarine. It was here I found out that Nemo, the famous clownfish has one type i.e. MALE. There is only one female fish in its school of fish. And when the female dies, one male becomes a female. Erm.. the wonders of nature.

Learning about pregnancy which I sat inside, and it is quite small for my height of 166cm.

Seat on this and try pulling yourself up. This is Physics. The lesser the rope at the top, the more difficult it is to pull yourself up. Ahh.. Physics in school.

Yes, the National Science Centre is huge. And I will continue to Part 2 where you will see the exhibitions. Kids should definitely come here and play!
