The Story
04082023: The plan for today was to visit a UNESCO area in Berlin which is Museum island but it did not turn out as planned as there was a long queue into all museums. I was not disappointed as I am not a super fan of museums but it would have been nice to be able to go in one of those museums.

Breakfast at the same place we had yesterday. Can you see the bakery next to a kebab restaurant?

The bakery has a very yummy spread of food. I took a breakfast set which I did not know is a huge portion. Their bread is so filling!

We took the bus to Musee Islee station. There were many people gathered everywhere! I guess it does not help that we arrived there after 9am. This is the museum that I wanted to go in - Neues Museum, as the bust of Nefertiti is in the museum. Can you see the queue behind me? Also, my travel companions were not interested in museums.

Behind me is the Old National Gallery houses paintings and sculptures from Classicism, Romanticism, Biedermeier, Impressionism and the early Modern Age. Source from Visit Berlin.

There were bullet holes from the World War 2 on the buildings.

The Berlin Cathedral. Such a magnificient architecture.

After the walk around Museum Island, we went to a Turkish area. The Turkish in Berlin are the largest Turkish community outside of Turkey. We walked through a street market.

Then, we stopped for lunch in the area. I had some lamb with bread, tea and lentil soup.

We went back to the city center and had beer at Augustine restaurant before we had our dinner at Maximilians again. This time, I had the famous roasted pork knuckle. So yummy! I just realised that the price of radler in Augustine restaurant is cheaper than the one in Maximilians by 20 cents / SEK2.
