The Story
30092022: Today, we will drive to our neighbour's wedding place in Domaine des Courmettes. Breakfast first like a Swede - bread with toppings of bell pepper and tomato slices and a banana plus brewed coffee.

As we were still way ahead of time, we stopped by at another village - Saint Jeannet. I like to check the price of vegetables in small villages.

Only one car can go through this lane. Also, this is not a one-way lane. I am not sure how the drivers do it but they are very skillful in maneuvring the cars in these narrow lanes.

Eggs are very expensive in this village. EUR3 (SEK33) for 6 eggs. That is SEK5,50 per egg. Ohmaigawd. I just bought eggs for SEK2,77 each and I thought they were already expensive.

At Chez Liza, we tried the must-have pan bagnat. It is a giant bun stuffed with salad Nicoise (tuna fish, tomatoes, anchovies, leafy greens, hard boiled egg and olives). I was so stuffed by it. We saw that Chez Liza won yearly awards for the best pan bagnat.

Then, we slowly made our way to Domaine des Courmettes which is another winding drive up the mountains. We were so nervous that we will drive off the cliff or when we meet an incoming car and have to inch the car close to the edge. We were so relieved when we finally arrive at the location. This building used to be a tuberculosis hospital. We shared a huge room with other wedding guests.

We were recommended to hike Pic de Courmettes. It is about 2km to the peak and it took us 2 hours. It is an easy trail. I mean, I walked in my jeans! There were no signs stating it is the peak so we kept hiking until we thought we could not see anything higher. We saw a small square (2m x 2m) piled up with rocks and we suspect that this might be the peak. Remember to bring water, by the way. We did not bring any and we were very thirsty during the hike.

We reached back at the wedding location in time to get ourselves ready for dinner, and this ends our trip in Nice. I will not be posting anything about the wedding which took place the next day. We stayed 2 nights in the former tuberculousis hospital and drove back to Nice airport where we left the car. The flight back to Sweden was at 1320 and we saw a number of the wedding guests at the airport too.
