Sweden : Part 9 - Day 4 Evening : Ikea

21092015 - I hurried out from the City Hall and managed to catch the 4pm free shuttle bus to Ikea. I can't remember where is the location of this bus stop but the next photo is its landmark. I can safely said that it is pretty close to the City Hall. It is opposite the Running Man statue. The journey to Ikea takes 30 minutes and it is away from Stockholm town.

I have reached Ikea and I was very happy to be able to be here. My sister has asked me to go to Ikea because that is where Ikea is from - Sweden. She wants to see how different it is from Malaysia. Well, since I don't frequent Ikea Malaysia very often, I would not be able to make a good comparison. For starters, Ikea Sweden is huge, but it is way smaller in Malaysia. I was instructed to try the meatball because meatball dish is famous in Ikea.

I went to the Restaurant and got the meatball dish with 2 desserts - slice of apple cake and marzipan dessert which has a tinge of alcohol inside. In total SEK59. The meatball meal is SEK29, and the dessert will be the balance of SEK30. I was very full with the meal. I like the meatballs.

Now, time to explore Ikea! I walked and walked till I got lost. I asked for directions on how to leave the place and they tell me to follow the arrow which is on the floor. They sell very similar products and toys too. But the only thing that is different is the yellow vest. Since it is a requirement in Scandinavia to wear yellow vest when one is walking on the road, it is sold in Ikea Sweden. I don't believe I have seen yellow vests in Ikea Malaysia.

Outside Ikea, I was greeted by the most splendid rainbow while I waited for the free shuttle bus. I took the free shuttle bus back to the same bus stop, and back I went to Stockholm town.

IKEA... that is the hell on Earth...! In Sweden we call those green marzipan dessert "Dammsugare" because they look like wacuum cleaners...! ;-) Yes, it is arrac inside them that gives the flavour. If you ate 15 kg of them, you could be drunk...! *just kidding*

Getting lost at IKEA is natural. I am sure IKEA has secret rescue teams that look for missing people during the night... :-)
