Da Nang : Part 14 - Dinner at Morning Glory

At night, the streets were lit up with the lanterns. There were so many lanterns on display, and you can buy them too, of course. I remembered, back in my younger days, my younger siblings made me a lantern that looks like a pig. Because I am born in the year of the wild boar. But that is beside the point. Point is lanterns are easy to make. And my siblings were younger than 12 years old.

We were still early for the reserved dinner. So, we stopped by the bridge to snap lots of photos.

Here, I present to you, Morning Glory Restaurant. We reserved a place the night before for a 7pm dinner. My friend read that Morning Glory is a must-go in Hoi An. The place was packed when we entered. Our reservation was upstairs. It is difficult, I admit to snap photos in dimmed placed. I had to hold my camera steadily to have not-so-blurry photos.

Okay, I went to the toilet for a while, and there was potpourri. Clever.

Dishes we ordered - chicken and fresh mint salad - VND88,000 (USD4.50 / RM13.50).

Braised chicken in ginger sauce - VND135,000 (USD6.90 / RM20.70).

Stir fried glass noodle and seafood - VND165,000 (USD8.45 / RM25.40).

Crispy noodle with seafood - VND175,000 (USD9 / RM27)

Beef with green bean - VND155,000 (USD7.90 / RM23.80)

Cinnamon spiced beef tender - VND155,000 (USD7.90 / RM23.80)

Grilled chicken with lime leaf - VND135,000 (USD6.90 / RM20.70)

Bread is complimentary.

This is us before tucking in. Oh yes, for the drinks. Larue beer - VND30,000. '333' beer - VND35,000. Tiger beer - VND35,000. Heineken beer - VND40,000. You know, one of the best part about travelling in a group is you can order a lot of dishes and share the meals.

For dessert : Cream flan - VND45,000 (USD2.30 / RM7). Sort of like creme brulee with ice. Dinner in total came to VND1,308,000 (RM201). Not too bad the price.

After dinner, we walked around looking at the packed restaurants.

There was a row of stalls that had signs of recommendation by Trip Advisor.

Then, I saw a place that has only ONE customer. Okay, I am very mean to snap a photo of the name of the place. Hehe..

I saw a house that is available for rent. Not bad for a large family who decides to come.

Back at the hotel, we talked to the receptionist, and we got to know her a bit more. About her life, and lifestyle in Hoi An. Such a innocent girl she is... because I had to act out what a prostitute is.
