I know my posts in Vietnam are broken down into too many posts. The problem is I have too many photos to share, and photos speak a thousand words than my lengthy descriptions. When I read a blog, I would like to see more photos though, because I can see if the place is worth going to. Descriptions can be misleading to my brain, because I will imagine the best of it.
09032013 - Today, we are going for a morning cycle to the beach in Hoi An. So, we left early as we need to check out. Remember, we only booked for a night. So, for breakfast is the selection from the menu. Mine is bread with beef and eggs as filings. While my friends chose fresh fruit yogurt and American breakfast.
Each hotel has free bicycles for usage. Only the motorcycles are the ones that need to be paid for hourly rate. Well, I did not ask because we were not using them anyway. It is been such a long time since I rode the bicycle and I love the feeling of it. The wind against your face, my skirt billowing upwards (sometimes) and my hands awkwardly trying to smooth my skirt, stopping along the route to snap random photos, and cycling with one hand sometimes to snap a photo of my friends cycling.
It was just a 25 minute ride to the beach. It was just a straight route to the beach. No turnings. So not difficult at all. There was no one at the beach when we arrived. It was only 9am. My friend warned me not to sit on the benches, because as soon as I sit on it, I have to pay. My legs long to sit though.
We walked around and found places to sit, where we can have some coconut drinks. Coconut drink for VND30,000 (USD1.50 / RM4.50) each. We had quail eggs bought from the local seller. 10 eggs for VND20,000 (USD1 / RM3). The powder is asam (tamarind) powder. There were lots of local sellers approaching us as soon as we sat down.
The simplest method of fishing using thin long strips of wood.
At this spot, I clearly remembered that a rubbish truck was right in front of me. Guess what song they were playing... it was the theme song from 'Once Upon A Time in China'. Now, I can never associate that song to Wong Fei Hung / Jet Li. I will remember the rubbish truck now.
When we reached back, the van of the hotel we were going to stay in was waiting for us.
There goes first half of the day.
