Tanjung Sepat : Lover's Bridge and Pau

Kuala Selangor has always been one of the places I wanted to visit. I have read a lot, and I know it's going to be a long drive there. But there are many places worth visiting in Kuala Selangor. My first place in Kuala Selangor was Sekinchan on 09042012.

This is my first self-initiated visit to Kuala Selangor. On 09062012, I visited Tanjung Sepat. Tanjung Sepat is a fishing village. Well, since Kuala means estuary (that part of the mouth or lower course of a river in which the river's current meets the sea's tide), fishing villages are abundance. It was a windy day when I visited Tanjung Sepat. The water was rough.

Then, we drove to the residential area looking for the famous pau (steamed buns). Got lost a bit and found this beautiful decoration.

And surprisingly, it was the location of the Lover's Bridge. There is nothing special about the bridge. It's just a long long bridge where the first 3/4 is made from cement, and the final 1/4 is made from wood. I can't feel any love.. maybe because I was not walking with one! Haha!

It was scary walking on the bridge when the wind is so strong.

This is the final 1/4 of the bridge made of wood, which no one dared venture on due to the strong wind and the high waves.

After that 'dangerous' walk along the bridge, we were back on the road looking for the pau. We asked around for directions and managed to find the place. Not very difficult after all. It was located in one of the lanes. Yes, very vague. But trust me, it's very simple.

The place to buy the pau. The steamed buns are so famous that they are bought in 10s.

The prices are so expensive. We bought the ones that cost RM2.20 and RM2, which are the signature pau.

There was a small coffee shop opposite the pau shop. The pau shop was not opened yet, as in there were no pau ready yet. Well, the ones that were ordered before hand were ready but not the ones bought for that day. So, we sat in the coffee shop which also belong to the owner of the pau shop. We bought some local fried snacks - nothing too delicious.

Finally, we got our first pau. The paper that layers the steamed bun has the address and telephone number.

Our first famous bun - Vegetable with Pork. Costs RM2. Not worth it. The fillings were little and dry.

The second famous bun - Pork. Costs - RM2.20. The skin of the bun is soft and smooth. The Pork bun has an egg inside. This one is worth the price paid for. The fillings were more juicy.

Back to the city we go now.
